VAL-D’OR, Wednesday, May 9, 2007 - A capacity crowd was at the Air Creebec Centre tonight for game four of the President Cup final. The MAINEiacs got a quick two-man advantage early in the second period, but goaltender Jérémy Duchesne made several spectacular saves to keep the score tied at zero.

David Perron opened the scoring with 6:28 left in the first period following a turnover in Val-d’Or’s offensive zone. A little over a minute later, the talented winger put Lewiston up by two goals with his twelfth goal of the playoffs. Captain Marc-André Cliche assisted on both first period markers.

The 2-0 lead held in the second period as both teams played cautiously in their own zone. The lone goal in the third period was scored by Foreurs forward Jérôme Samson. But, it was too little too late as the MAINEiacs lifted their first ever President Cup Trophy for their fans in Lewiston.

The most valuable player award was handed out to goaltender Jonathan Bernier by QMJHL Director of hockey operations, Raymond Bolduc. Bernier lost only once in seventeen starts.
