Finalists announced for the Golden Puck Awards

BOUCHERVILLE, Wednesday, March 18, 2009 – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today released the list of nominees for the 2009 Golden Puck Awards. Every year, the QMJHL honours its most deserving athletes, teams and personalities at its annual awards Gala. It will be held on Wednesday, April 1st, at the Hyatt-Regency Hotel in Montreal.

Here are the nominees for each honour:

Michel-Brière Trophy (Most Valuable Player)

RDS Cup (Rookie of the Year)

Seven other awards, including the Jean-Rougeau, Luc-Robitaille and Robert-Lebel trophies, will be handed out during on-ice presentations at the start of the playoffs on Friday, March 20.

Kevin-Lowe Trophy (Best Defensive Defenseman)

Of note, the three following trophies will be awarded during the QMJHL Annual Session in June. The nominees will be announced at a later date.
