Two-Game Suspension for Danny Stewart of the Rimouski Océanic 2005-05-09
BOUCHERVILLE, Friday, April 29, 2005 (QMJHL) - The Québec Major Junior Hockey League Disciplinary Prefect, Mr. Maurice Filion, has suspended Danny Stewart of the Rimouski Océanic for two games.
This sanction follows the incident involving Danny Stewart, which occurred during the final series’ second game between the Rimouski Océanic and Halifax Mooseheads, on May 6. Stewart speared Alexandre Picard.
Before making his decision, Mr. Filion consulted supervisors Sylvain Bibeau and Raymond Bolduc, in addition to reading the Danny Stewart incident report.
The suspension came into force as of today.
In accordance with the QMJHL policy regarding disciplinary sanctions, Mr. Filion will not be available for further comments.
